Kate McRae & Friends
Monday, October 5, 2009 at 5:12AM First thing you need to do before looking at the photos of this little girl and family, is go read about these people HERE.
I also must preface this with these are not my photos. Promise Tangeman had the privilege of shooting these images a while back. She asked me to edit them and I greatly obliged, as I would with any photographer giving me the honor of editing their wonderful images. I first took on this project because I thought it would be a great chance to get to work with another photographer/designer, and welcomed the challenge. As I began editing, I noticed what love and sincere emotion this family projected towards each other. Not only are they all incredibly beautiful and super cute, but they are just so fun. I wish I had the privilege of getting to take such gorgeous pictures.
After editing the images and sending them back to Promise, she then told me the story of Kate. I broke into tears. I then proceeded to tell her why this opportunity meant so much to me. So bear with me, but this is a little bit of my testimony.
When I was four years old, my father passed away with cancer. The same year, just months later, his father, my grandfather, also passed away with cancer. The year previous, my parents found out that my favorite grandmother, my mom's mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer has become one of life's foes for so many families, especially mine. So when I found out about Kate, it broke my heart.
I'm now praying every day for this little girl, and I hope you will too. Enjoy these images, as I know I did. Please notice the love and pure joy in this family. It's one of life's greatest treasures to have someone love as much as this family does. Thank you Promise for introducing me to this and for giving me the opportunity.
