snow days

If you live in Arkansas, you know it snowed yesterday. We don't know how to live in snow here in the South. We don't own chains for our tires, snow plows, giant shovels, and shoes with traction for ice. We maybe have one big winter coat, a pair of gloves stuffed in the bottom of a drawer, and tennis shoes we don't mind getting dirty. 

You know the weather is bad, when the city gets stuck. This happened late last night, right outside my front yard. I pretended to be with the paper and went and took a few photos of Bryant's finest attempting to pull a dump truck full of sand out of the ditch. 

Happy Birthday Momma!

Yes, today, February 17 is my mother, Cindy's, birthday. My mom and I have a very special relationship, and I know for a fact I wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for her. She's my  hero, my inspiration, and on certain days, my driving force. She's always been there for me and been my best friend, and I hope we continue to have a great relationship. 

But enough with the sappy stuff. Just recently, my mother bought a Canon DSLR and took a photography class. Why she didn't just ask me, I have no idea. However, since taking the class, and within the last year, she's become a pretty good photographer. She doesn't mess with photoshop or anything, so I edited the pictures for her. I figured today was the perfect day to honor Mom and show off her new skillzzzz and her wonderful pictures! 

These are a few of the snow day this past weekend and some of my parents dog "Colt" playing in the snow. And yes, that dog does weigh about 100 lbs.
